DIAMONDS may have once been a girl’s best friend, but the Australian-produced pink stones have become highly sought after by investors of all stripes, led by the rise in self-managed super funds.
Rio Tinto’s annual Pink Diamond Tender, made up of millions of dollars worth of rare red, pink and blue diamonds, will next month begin a worldwide tour of financial centres before a silent auction in October.
